Delete Your Natty Account
Last updated: July 25, 2026
A Natty account is optional. Core terminal, SFTP, workspace, key, snippet, bookmark, and encrypted-backup features work without one. Use these instructions only if you created an account through GitHub OAuth or email OTP.
Delete in Natty
- Open Natty and go to Settings.
- Open Sync.
- Choose Delete sync account.
- Complete the requested TOTP step-up and confirm the permanent deletion.
Natty requests deletion of the authentication account, approved-device records, transfer requests, sync operations, retained conflicts, and current server-side E2EE ciphertext. The encrypted local vault remains on your device so an account deletion cannot unexpectedly destroy local-only data.
Request Deletion Without App Access
Email [email protected] with the subject "Natty account deletion" from the email associated with the account. Include only the account email and whether you signed in with GitHub or email OTP. Do not send passwords, tokens, private keys, security-key details, recovery codes, host information, terminal content, paths, database files, or backups.
Vailgrid will verify account ownership before completing an external request. If ownership cannot be verified safely, support will explain the minimum additional verification needed without asking for Natty vault secrets.
What Is Not Deleted Remotely
Account deletion cannot erase local vaults, exported encrypted backups, remote-host data, or data already decrypted on another device. Remove local Natty data through your device's app storage controls or by uninstalling the app after preserving any backup you intend to keep. Manage files and accounts on remote systems with their respective operators.
